Double Trouble: September Favourites! Part 1
1. L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation
This foundation is amazing! It really lives up to what it claims – it gives you an amazing glow that lasts all day and doesn’t get greasy. The L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation gives you a nice and refreshing dewy glow. After 8 hours of wear, my skin still looked fresh and my T-zone barely got oily (I could get by without having to touch it up).
I think L’Oréal did a really great job in creating a foundation that is suitable for a variety of skin types because the Pro Matte is more for oily and combination skin whereas the Pro Glow suits all skin types. I highly recommend this foundation to anyone who have combination or oily skin and are looking for a nice, dewy foundation or anyone who have dry skin and can’t use the Pro Matte but still want to test out the longevity of the Infallible Pro foundations!Get it here!
2. NARS: Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard and Vanilla
I never used to like this concealer because it just didn’t work well with my skin before but I decided to give it another try. This time around, this NARS radiant creamy concealer worked much better on me! I use Custard to conceal, and I use Vanilla to highlight. This time this NARS concealer didn’t dry up on me like it did before; nor did it crease and it also gave great coverage. I’m really happy that I gave this concealer a try again; and they also came out with a ton of new shades! If you haven’t checked out this NARS radiant creamy concealer, you need to!
PS: Some people say that the Maybelline Fit Me concealer is an exact dupe for the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer however it’s actually not! The NARS concealer is much thicker and provides higher coverage; however, if you’re looking for a more affordable alternative, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is a great drugstore concealer.Get it here!
3. Make Up Geek x Kathleen Lights: Highlight Palette
This Make Up Geek x Kathleen Lights highlight palette is the first highlighter that Make Up Geek has ever come out with and I am absolutely in love with it! The colours are gorgeous, versatile for different skin tones and it gives you a very beautiful and buildable glow. The formula of these highlighters are very pigmented, easy to work with and buttery. With this highlight formula, one swipe gives you a very pigmented and natural glow. With two layers, it gives you the POPPIN’ glow! I love using this highlighter with a tapered highlight brush or a fan brush – also, these three colours create an awesome highlight shade when mixed together!
Some people were upset that the price point ($39 USD) was too expensive for a palette. However, I disagree – the pans of each shade in this highlight palette are huge! It’s definitely worth the price and it’s a lot more affordable than other make up brands. So, if you’re looking for a new highlight palette that’s affordable with versatile colours and an amazing formula, try the Make Up Geek x Kathleen Lights highlight palette!Get it here!
4. Makeup Forever: Face and Body Liquid Foundation
My skin has been acting up lately and has been very dry with my nose being super sensitive as well – so I decided to focus more on skin care and wear a lighter foundation that is more hydrating. I tried the Make Up Forever Face and Body foundation that Kathleen Lights recommended in a lot of her YouTube channel and I have been wearing it for the last 2 weeks and I love it! It’s very hydrating and even though its sheer, its buildable and doesn’t look cakey or patchy even after 2 to 3 layers. I usually use 2 layers of this foundation and because its so sheer, I use a flat top kabuki brush to blend it out.
This Make Up Forever Face and Body Foundation is very nice because it really keeps my skin hydrated, doesn’t cling on my dry patches and it didn’t make my skin worse. Also, it didn’t make my skin greasy either even after 10 hours of wear. The finish is very natural, smooth and healthy looking – its not a full coverage foundation but it’s the perfect everyday foundation!Get it here!
5. Colourpop Cosmetics: Hanky Panky Eye shadow
Colourpop’s Hanky Panky eye shadow has been a favourite for the last 2 months when ever I do a simple everyday look! It’s the perfect cool toned taupe brown to blend into your crease to create a nice and neutral contoured eye look. It looks very natural but also very buildable! Hanky Panky is my favourite eye shadow from Colourpop and looks good on its own or with different eye shadows. I definitely recommend Hanky Panky to anyone that is looking for a neutral taupe transition shade that is easy to blend with your finger or with a synthetic blending brush!Get it here!
6. BECCA Cosmetics: Blush in Wild Honey
A blush that I have been obsessed with is Wild Honey from BECCA Cosmetics! I have always been a fan of more neutral blushes because it blends better with bronzers, creating more of a natural look. Wild Honey is a gorgeous peachy nude that gives your cheeks a really nice flush; and it compliments day time looks as well as full glam looks! BECCA makes one of my favourite blush formulas and I highly recommend Wild Honey if you’re looking for a natural blush that is good for any look!Get it here!
