Hi guys! Today I will be talking about my June favourites! Because I’m a lipstick junkie, I’ve covered a separate lip product favourites post and will continue to do that every month. Here are the monthly favourites that aren’t lip products!
1. Too Faced: Sweethearts Bronzer in Sweet Tea
Where should I start with amazing bronzer?! This Sweethearts bronzer is hands down my favourite bronzer of all time. I mean, before I found this one, I never used bronzers because I’m really picky with the shades and tones. Every bronzer I have tried before this one were either too orange or too warm toned, making my face look super orange once it settles in and oxidizes. But this Sweethearts bronzer in Sweet Tea has 2 shades in the box, and both are cool toned, but very neutral bronzer shades. They’re both shimmery so its not fit for contouring, but its perfect for bronzing up your skin to get that neutral, bronzy complexion without looking too warm or orange after it oxides. The 2 shades look so good individually and when you mix the 2 together, you get a whole new shade that looks amazing, as if the shades didn’t look awesome already!
This bronzer is also so, so good because you can use the lighter shade for a natural daytime look; then you can use the darker shade as your bronzer for a nighttime look and the lighter shade as your highlight! And let’s not forget about the formula. The formula is so comfortable and so pigmented. You don’t need a lot to get your desired coverage- which is perfect because it’ll last you a long time!
I could go on forever about how amazing this bronzer is but I recommend you to go to your nearest Sephora and swatch this bronzer yourself, and you’ll see what I mean!Get it here!
2. Too Faced: Born This Way Foundation
Not going to lie, I only started using liquid foundations late last year. I have combination skin and my nose area tends to get very oily after a few hours, so I used to stick to powder foundation (holy grail: Maybelline Matte and Poreless Powder Foundation). Soon after I was starting to feel like powder foundation was not enough coverage- so I started looking into liquid foundation. I discovered a few that were working for me for a bit, but after awhile my skin was just not taking these foundations well so I decided to try the Born This Way Foundation by Too Faced and this has become my 1 of the top 2 foundations that I love. It has a range of shades, its medium to full coverage, so its very buildable and a little goes a long way.
I love using this foundation on a day-to-day basis, and I use a bit more to get a full coverage look if I’m going to an event or a night out. You can either use a brush and a beauty blender to apply this foundation- both ways give your skin a very nice and natural finish. This foundation doesn’t crease and I don’t get oily when I use this. Best of all, after a whole day of wear it still looks very nice! In terms of price, it’s a bit cheaper than other foundations at Sephora- basically what I’m saying is you need to try this!Get it here!
3. Loreal: Infallible Pro-Matte 24 HR Foundation
This is my second favourite foundation to use and its very similar to the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. This foundation is meant to give you a matte finish and it really lives up to it! I use shades 103 and 104 because I found that mixing these 2 gave me the perfect colour for my complexion. Its very buildable and it gives you medium to full coverage- which is something I really look for in foundations. I wear this foundation almost everyday for a medium coverage finish and it feels so comfortable on the skin. It doesn’t cake or move around and it really keeps your skin super matte. For a drugstore foundation, this is very, very good!Get it here!
4. Sephora Collection: Colourful Face Powders Contour colour in Los Cabos
My skin is more yellow toned, so I like to use contour shades that are less warm and more cool toned. Los Cabos is THE perfect cool toned, taupe contour shade that gives you a strong contour but it doesn’t look muddy and still looks very neutral. It also comes in a decent pan size, so it will last you a long time. Another great thing about Los Cabos is that you have the option to keep it in the compact that it comes in, or easily pop it out and place it in a Z palette. I personally have mine in a Z palette along with my banana powders and sheer highlighters.
Los Cabos is also very buildable, so you can create a natural contour or a stronger contour- and its also great as a light bronzer too! The colors from this Sephora collection are actually very nice- they have a range of blushes, sheer highlights and contour shades; definitely worth the money since its also not as expensive as other contour powders sold at Sephora!Get it here!
5. Urban Decay: Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
Other than liquid lipsticks and highlighters, I always love trying out different concealers. The concealer I have been loving lately for day-to-day neutral glam looks is the Naked Skin Weightless Concealer from Urban Decay. It’s a very hydrating concealer that gives you medium to buildable coverage. Even though its hydrating, it stays in place, doesn’t move around and isn’t too liquidy!
I usually use the light medium shade to conceal any blemishes that I might have, then I use the shade light to highlight. It really is the perfect formula because its a good balance between light weight and full coverage. I have tried to put more of this concealer on for a night time look, and it did not cake or crease at all. I do set this concealer with a banana powder or finishing powder just because it is a cream product and I like to look matte- but regardless this concealer gives you a very natural but buildable coverage look!Get it here!
6. Anastasia Beverly Hills: Glow Kit in Sun Dipped
Anastasia never fails to impress me, and this time it’s a new glow kit! This is the third glow kit that Anastasia Beverly Hills has released and I have to say that these glow kits are probably my favourite highlights to use. Each kit has such amazing and versatile shades, and the Sun Dipped glow kit is no different. I love that there’s always 4 shades in the palette and Sun Dipped has really cool shades. These glow kits are so pigmented and easy to use, but I have been loving Sun Dipped because the shades are just jaw dropping.
My favourite shades from this glow kit are Tourmaline (a taupe with a rose gold finish with hints of lavender) and Moonstone (the perfect champagne shade that has a pearlized finish with hints of light pink). I love using Tourmaline first, then mixing a small amount of Moonstone to create a flawless and glowing highlight! Tourmaline just looks so cool, you would think that it might look a bit dark on the skin, but it doesn’t! Its very radiant but different at the same time. Also, Bronzed is the perfect shade to top your bronzer with- it’s a cooler toned bronzy highlight shade and I love it. If you haven’t gotten your hands on the Sun Dipped Glow Kit yet, make sure you do and get glowing!Get it here!
7. Morphe Brushes: M509 from the Flawless Collection
I’ve only gotten this M509 brush for a month, but I have been LOVING this brush for highlighting! I’m obsessed with highlighters and highlighting brushes, so I’m always on the look out for different brushes. I was recently doing some research on highlighting brushes to try out so I got a few from Morphe but so far my favourite highlighting brush is definitely this one. The M509 is a mid sized pointed blender brush, making it really perfect for putting that first layer of sheer glow on your cheek bones or on top of your blush.
I usually first use this brush to dust a sheer highlight over my blush and my cheekbones. I then use the same brush, but this time I take a more glowing highlight and I gently dust it on my cheekbones. I just love the glow it gives my face, regardless of what highlighters I’m using. The M509 and the Anastasia Beverly Hills #23 highlighting brush are both my favourites because they both cover a larger area so that even if you’re using a beaming highlighter, they can both provide you with a strong glow that’s blended out nicely at the same time (basically both of these brushes doesn’t make it look like you have a patch of highlight on your cheekbones).
If you haven’t tried this yet, I highly recommend that you do- it gives you an amazing glow and its very affordable!Get it here!
8. Real Techniques: Stippling Duo Fiber Brush
My last favourite of the month is a stippling duo fiber brush from Real Techniques. I don’t own a lot of stippling duo fiber brushes, but I’m starting to get more of them to try out. I actually realized that I like stippling duo fiber brushes in general more than a lot of the brushes that I have tried.
I use this stippling brush for setting my concealer and foundation and boy, this brush does the trick! This brush is super soft, its size sits right between a medium and large stippling brush, which makes it perfect for a variety of uses. For example, you can use this brush for setting your face, for bronzing and even for applying blush! This is a favourite this month because I love that it makes your face look very soft when you’re using this brush to set your face. It gives your skin a very soft, natural finish but also completely sets your face at the same time- definitely worth getting!Get it here!
So these are my favourites for the month of June. I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as the fun I had writing it, and stay tuned for my July favourites coming very soon!
