#TravelTuesdays: How to Explore Europe with just a Carry-on!
Although stuffing a bunch of clothes into a big suitcase is quick and easy, its the opposite of the concept of traveling light and taking everything you need at the same time! I mean, even if you score a crazy deal for a flight within Europe, airlines always find a way to ruin your stay-on-your-budget dreams by adding different costs! You have to pay to choose your seat, pay to check in your bags and pay for food/beverages! So, naturally we would all want to save by sacrificing our comfort. But fear not! We figured out ways that you could travel light, stay within your budget and still feel comfortable on your Euro trip!
1. Pick the right carry-on bag!
Trolley bags are convenient, when one is limited to 8 kgs; every gram counts! My bag of choice is an expandable Longchamp bag or a weekender bag; both practically weightless.
2. Don’t forget a Good Jacket!
Most people go on short trips in Europe in Spring/Summer. While it does get quite hot during the day, don’t be fooled, the temperatures drop drastically towards the evenings. Pack a lightweight waterproof windbreaker to always have some protection from the rain or high winds! If you are looking for something more trendy, a trench coat would be the perfect coat to take along.
3. Pick the Right Shoes!
Comfortable shoes like Toms or a pair of Nike Air Max Thea’s are the best go to shoes when exploring European cities. It’s always good to have 2 shoes to alternate between. You should also include a pair of heels for the night out when you want to dance the night away!
4. Additional Bring-alongs
Last but not least, we included additional things you can bring with you that you would need in your carry-on!
Liquids Pouch: Mini toiletries, perfume testers, make-up necessities, wet wipes, hand sanitizer etc.
Electric Items: Camera, Phone, Headphones, IPod, charging cables, travel adaptor, selfie stick (cause we all need good selfies)!
Other Necessities: Jewelry, sunglasses and a neck pillow that you can attach onto the outside of your bag. Don’t forget to tag us at #TravelTuesdays to show us your trip photos! Now get to packing and bon voyage!
